I bought this spanner wrench set for vintage camera restoration. I already have a few spanners, but none have tips that get as close together as this set here, or the tips are a bit too blunted for very precise work. After a lot of research and a video demonstration I decided to get this set despite the high price. I needed a set like this for very fine and small two holed screws found on most Japanese cameras. And now that I have two sets of these particular spanners I can say that I would not recommend them unless you are prepared to do some finishing work to refine the pointed tips yourself.
I noticed the problem with the first set I ordered. Thankfully they come in clear packaging so I was able to notice immediately that the s interchangeable shar tips were machined differently. One of the tips was noticeably more blunt than the other. So much so the extra blunt tip did not slot into the fine screws that I had bought them to work on.
I notified Micro-Tools about this defect, and, to their tremendous credit, they sent me a replacement spanner set at no charge (5 star customer service). But the second set had the same exact problem. At least now I had four tips that I could use to make a functional spanner set. But the problem isn't 100% solved because now the tip lengths are slightly different. Spanners are notorious for slipping out of the screw holes during high torque and having two different tip lengths, even if only very slightly, only exacerbates the problem.
I'll be refining these to fix the problem now, but I've had spanners that were much better built at half the price.
