The top and bottom plates, along with all punches, are made from S7 shock-resistant tool steel, hardened to 55 HRC for long-lasting performance. -

Swanstrom cutters feature precision-ground surfaces on the punches, ensuring smooth edges that require minimal cleanup. The tight tolerances between the punches and the spring-loaded die plate guarantee clean cuts and extend the lifespan of the cutter. -

The die plate securely clamps your material to prevent distortion while keeping your fingers safely away from the cutting area. It’s simple to adjust the cutter to accommodate your material thickness, and placing a shim of the same thickness as the material being cut on the opposite side helps maintain balance and ensures a perpendicular cut. -

Suitable for soft materials up to 16 gauge (1.29mm) when using a mallet, and up to 10 gauge (2.59mm) when using a hydraulic press. For enhanced performance, use a urethane pad (1/16" thick, 95 durometer; not included) under the cutter to reduce noise, support the cutter, and protect your work surface.
